Community Involvement

Union Packaging is a certified African-American owned Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the Minority Supplier Development Council of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of General Services.

Both as a company and through the work of our President, Mike Pearson, we have a lasting commitment to community stewardship and involvement.

United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey has, for nearly a century, responded to the needs of our local community while simultaneously addressing the root causes of key issues. We do this by inspiring and uniting the power of individuals, the business community, and the public and nonprofit sectors around common goals.

Mike Pearson has served on the board of the United Way since 2011. In the factory we have held numerous fund raisers.

Bridges

Bridges from School to Work was established in 1989 by the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities to enhance employment opportunities for young people with disabilities by effectively matching them to employers’ entry-level workforce needs.

Over our years with the program Union Packaging has hired 22 employees from that program.

The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians

The Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians connects new arrivals to economic opportunities in our region so that they can successfully integrate into their new homeland. The result: A Shared Prosperity. Our clients find their economic footing and our region benefits from fresh talent and new consumers.

Over our years with the program Union Packaging has hired 28 employees from that program.
